About the project

FASTEAM is a European project that strengthens family involvement in STEAM education. The project introduces practical tools and activities that connect home and school learning. Through storytelling, challenges, and interactive workshops, FASTEAM helps families and educators inspire the next generation of learners in science and creativity.

Objectives

The project aims to:

  • Strengthen cooperation between parents, teachers, and students in STEAM learning.

  • Make STEAM education more attractive and accessible for all learners.

  • Encourage girls and underrepresented groups to participate actively in STEAM.

  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and creativity in education.

  • Develop tools and strategies to support hands-on, family-based learning.

Implementation / Activities

To achieve its objectives, the project will:

  1. Develop the Together Tool, designed to help teachers and parents collaborate effectively in supporting students’ STEAM learning.

  2. Create the STEAM Stories Guide, offering parents a variety of story-based experiments to try with their children.

  3. Launch the Family Challenges Platform, an online hub offering creative challenges that promote teamwork and problem-solving.

  4. Organize family and student events to showcase projects and celebrate learning together.

Results

FASTEAM will deliver a set of practical and lasting outcomes:

  • Increased family engagement in STEAM education.

  • The Together Tool for school–family collaboration.

  • A STEAM Storytime Guide for creative home learning.

  • An Online Family Challenges Platform promoting creativity and teamwork.

  • Teachers equipped with inclusive teaching strategies.

  • Greater student motivation and understanding of STEAM concepts.

  • A replicable model of family engagement in STEAM education across Europe.

Ultimately, FASTEAM seeks to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and problem-solvers who will shape the future of our societies. By promoting collaboration, empathy, and inclusion, the project contributes to a vision of education where every child — regardless of background or experience — has the opportunity to discover their potential and see themselves as part of the world of science, technology, engineering, and the arts.
